The Future of our Church

STOP PRESS!

Letter from Rev Ann re Future of the Benefice dated 24th July

Dear members and friends of Holy Trinity

Serveral of us attended and spoke at the hearing of the Church Commissioners last week re the future of the benefice  of Theale and Englefield. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

At the end the Church Comnmissioners announced with much regret that they approved the dissolution of the benefice. This means that Theale and Englefield will become two stand-alone benefices.

The very good thing that came out of the process was the very clear committment from the Diocese to appoint a full time successor to me and secure funding for the new benefice of Theale for ten years.

As we stressed at the meeting, it will be an enormous challenge to meet the expectations of the Diocese re our parish share in the future; we will need everyone's full support so that we can remain focused on the mission of the church and continue to reach out to the community to share the Good News of Jesus and serve them in love.

With prayers and best wishes

Ann
